I hope you found October’s podcast interesting.

I am delighted that historical novelist Rebecca DeMarino  agreed to share with us how a search for family roots in rural England led to her first three novels.

The books that I recommended are:

Midland Peasant by W.G. Hoskins, Exploring Villages by  Joscelyne Finberg and, of course, the English Village Community by the-best-of-’em-all W.E. Tate – not forgetting Rebecca’s latest, To Follow The Heart

I also mentioned a Common Stream by Rowland Parker and a Victorian Miniature by Owen Chadwick

This link not only explains Hooper’s Rule for dating hedges but also gives a summary of the resulting debate.
